Enhanced protection measures for individuals coming from at-risk situations
22.12.2025
In recent years, we have intensified our commitment to people coming from at-risk contexts, welcoming a total of 162 students and 42 scholars. This steadily growing number has been accompanied by a progressive strengthening of dedicated services: from logistical and organizational assistance for the start of academic pathways, to informational and training supportaimed at fostering continuity in study and research careers.
2025 was a pivotal year in the development of protection mechanisms for at-risk students. Our intervention focused on four strategic lines:
- a risk assessment “tool” was created to enable prioritization in the selection process—on equal academic merit—of the most vulnerable students;
- scholarships were increased from €8,000 to €12,000 per year to support the beneficiaries’ purchasing power;
- within the framework of the protocol with ESU, rooms were reserved for all beneficiaries, thus guaranteeing affordable accommodation and overcoming obstacles related to finding housing;
- in collaboration with the Unipd Psychological Counseling Service, a dedicated support program was activated for students, both individual and group-based.
